An anti-corruption day has been organized in Chisinau trolleybuses Monday, December 29. From 11.00 to 15.00, members and volunteers of the initiative group “The Youths' Voice” gave passengers fliers and talked about the danger of corruption for society, from loud speakers. The drive was organized on the trolley on routes 18, 22 and 24 by teams wearing ti-shirts reading “You can stop corruption!” Aurelia Petrov, a team coordinator, has told Info-Prim Neo the team managed to inform the passengers from 7 trolleys. The passengers have had shared reactions to the campaign, says Aurelia, but in general their attitude was a positive one. The travelers asked the volunteers questions, told their own experiences. Many read the fliers right in the trolley. Some were more reserved: as a rule the elderly, says another team coordinator Nicolae Olarasu. Such an action has a positive mass impact and deserves to be repeated, said a team coordinator named Maria Bivol. The national campaign “You can stop corruption” is part of of the Strengthening Civil Society Monitoring Capacity in Moldova (SCSMCM) program, implemented by the Academy for Educational Development (AED), with the technical support of IREX. The program is financed by the Millennium Challenge Corporation and administered by USAID within the Threshold Country Plan for Moldova. AED will be supported by the Parc Communications PR agency in implementing the campaign.
