Anti-bribery management system at Clinical Hospital “Saint Archangel Mikhail”

An anti-bribery management system will be implemented at the Municipal Clinical Hospital “Saint Archangel Mikhail”. The plan for implementing the system, in accordance with the ISO 37001 international standard, was presented in a national conference held as part of a project that is financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania through the International Development Cooperation Agency RoAid, IPN reports.

In the national conference, Artur Răducanu, first secretary of Romania’s Embassy in Chisinau, reiterated that the Government of Romania supports Moldova’s European integration efforts and is hopeful that Moldova’s direction will be European. By implementing European and international standards such as ISO 37001 – anti-bribery management systems – the hospitals contribute to this direction that was undertaken in 2009.

Anca Ștefiuc, of RoAid Agency, assured that the Republic of Moldova continues to be a priory for the official development assistance of Romania. She presented the projects financed by the Government of Romania in Moldova, among which is the project to renovate wards at the Mother and Child Institute.

The representative of the National Anticorruption Center of Moldova Ion Pruteanu encouraged all those attending the conference to make effort and fight corruption in the institutions they represent.

Svetlana Chișlaru, vice director of the Municipal Clinical Hospital “Saint Archangel Mikhail”, said their hospital will be making effort to implement the anti-bribery procedures that are worked out by the Center for Innovation and Policies in Moldova and the consultancy company Integrity Solutions within the project “Efficient management at the Municipal Clinical Hospital “Saint Archangel Mikhail” of Chisinau – self-assesssment and standardization for modern administration”.

The Center for Innovation and Policies in Moldova, in partnership with Integrity Solutions, during 12 months will assist the administration of the Hospital “Saint Archangel Mikhail” of Chisinau in appropriately implementing the ISO 37001 standard so as to contribute to preventing corruption at this health facility, which is expected to become an example of goods practices in the field.
