The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) announced investment contests to sell the municipal radio and TV stations “Antena C” and Euro TV Chisinau”. The contest will be organised in 2 stages. At the first stage, after all the bids will be placed, the tender commission will determine the most advantageous offers. The winners will be selected at the second stage. The commission will designate the winner on the basis of several criteria. The winning bidders shall offer the best price, the most advantageous obligations in what concerns the fulfilment of the commitments, shall pay off the debts, maintain the stations and develop the companies etc. The total value of the assets of “Antena C” was estimated at over MDL 540 thousand and “Euro TV Chisinau” station’s at about MDL 1.5 mln. The bids can be placed till January 15. CMC decided on December 14 through the vote of the communist and Christian –democrat councillors to organise an investment contest to sell the 2 stations. This decision displeased the staffs of the two stations and generated protests which engaged staffs, the civil society and political parties.
