The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) will weekly stage informative conferences centering on the quality and safety requirements for each category of food products, the Agency’s director general Gheorghe Gaberi announced, quoted by IPN.
“There were held two meetings - one with fruit and vegetable growers who export to Russia and another one with producers of saplings. They were familiarized with the quality and safety requirements for each of these products, stipulated by the amendments made to the legislation,” said Gheorghe Gaberi.
According to the director, the main goal of the ANSA is to make sure that the consumers are provided with food products that are safe to eat. Inspectors will check the quality of the products of animal or vegetal origin, including of imported ones.
The ANSA was founded on February 14 by merging a number of bodies entrusted with the task of ensuring the quality of food products. Its creation was a commitment made in the negotiation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and the EU.
