The local subdivisions of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) will have 35 new transport units equipped for carrying out professional duties. The vehicles will be delivered in two parts. The first 25 cars were handed over on Friday, while the other 10 cars will be conveyed in March, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization said that ANSA’s fleet of cars was insufficient and outdated. “Our goal is to have an efficient and functional state. For the purpose, we digitize, eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy, simplify procedures and equip institutions with the necessary tools to provide high-quality services to citizens and entrepreneurs,” said Minister Dumitru Alaiba.
The acquisition was made by the World Bank through the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Competitiveness Project.
World Bank Country Manager for Moldova Inguna Dobraja said that the cars intended for ANSA are not only vehicles, but also tools to save time, money and efforts for the people who have their businesses away from regulators, but also for the authorities.
“The provision of the Agency with transport units will contribute to strengthening the institutional capacities and the administrative resources at ANSA’s local food safety subdivisions in carrying out state inspections according to the legislative provisions,” said Radu Musteața, ANSA director general.
