The National Energy Regulatory Agency ANRE will meet on Tuesday to debate a draft decision raising the district heat rate in Chisinau to 3,577 lei per giga-calorie (VAT excluded), from 2,854 lei/Gcal, the rate in effect since October 1.

The proposed price is slightly lower than what the supplier Termoelectrica demanded: 3,636 lei.

Termoelectrica has also requested a rise from 4.54 lei/kWh to 5.51 lei/kWh for its electricity. However, the ANRE’s draft decision stipulates a price of 3.93 lei/kWh (VAT excluded).

The utility said the adjustments were needed as a result of higher prices of primary energy resources.
