ANRE to decide if natural gas tariffs will be raised

The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) at a meeting next week will decide if the natural gas tariffs for end-users will be increased or not, the Agency's director general Victor Parlikov has told Info-Prim Neo. SA Moldovagaz demands that the charges be adjusted following the rise in the import price of the Russian natural gas. According to Victor Parlikov, the ANRE will take a final decision after a public discussion on the issue that is set to take place on April 16. It will bring together representatives of SA Moldovagaz and of the civil society, independent analysts and journalists. “After the subject of tariffs is discussed at this meeting, the ANRE will take a decision next week,” Parlikov said. SA Moldovagaz asked that the ANRE increase the tariffs for end-users by 14% as the Russian gas giant Gazprom raised the selling price of gas by 10% from April 1. The last time, the ANRE updated the natural gas charges for end-users on January 19, when the average tariff was raised to 3,542 lei per 1 000 m3 (without the VAT of 6%).
