ANRE launches awareness raising campaign for consumers of energy resources

The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) is launching a campaign to inform the consumers about their rights and obligations in the relations with the suppliers of energy resources, Info-Prim Neo reports. ” The ANRE receives daily complaints about the poor quality of the services provided, about the non-observance of the contractual clauses by suppliers and disconnections from the supply. In many cases the consumers cannot be helped, though they seem to be right, because they did not pay attention to certain aspects and procedures concerning their relations with the suppliers. We want the consumers and consumer organizations to be our equal partners in the dialogue centering on the energy market rules,” said the ANRE director general Victor Parlicov, explaining the necessity of such a campaign. The ANRE earlier gave a news conference where there were explained the provisions of the regulations concerning the quality of the natural gas transportation and distribution services. There will be held other conferences as well as roundtable meetings and sessions of questions and answers where the consumers will be informed in detail about this and other documents that regulate the relations between the suppliers of energy resources and the consumers. The given documents are available on the ANRE’s website. About 250 complaints were submitted to the ANRE over January – November. Another over 200 complaints were made over the phone, through the emergency telephone service.
