ANRE director has a monthly income of 44,000 lei
The director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) Victor Parlicov has a monthly income of 44,000 lei. The information was made public in Thursday's sitting of the legislative body while discussing the Agency's budget for this year, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“It is not a shame to receive a large salary. It is a shame not to do your job. The institution I head in 2010 did its job very well,” Victor Parlicov told the journalists.
The ANRE director said the average pay of the Agency's employees is 16,000 lei, while his salary does not exceed five average pays. According to him, the former head of the institution had a monthly income of 50,000 lei.
The Communist lawmakers demanded that the Agency's budget should be halved as the salaries of the directors derive from the incomes of the ordinary people, who pay high tariffs.
The ANRE's budget was ultimately adopted by a majority vote without further amendment. Thus, the institution's budget this year will be 18.9 million lei. Victor Parlicov said about 70% of the money will go on employees' pays.
After the sitting, Speaker Marian Lupu said the salaries of the ANRE employees are not exaggerated as the Agency manages billions of lei and the staff should be paid well in order to avoid corruption.
