ANRE carries out inspection at SA Termocom

The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) started an audit at the Chisinau heat supplier SA Termocom to examine its business and financial records for 2008-2009 and technical aspects of its work. The audit is carried out by a commission constituted by the Agency, which is to submit the results of the examination to the ANRE’s Administration Board by the end of the first quarter, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting sources in the Agency. This is the first audit conducted by the ANRE at Termocom in compliance with its new powers prescribed in the law on energy. The commission is analyzing the costs incurred, the purchases of materials and services, the technical condition of the heat pipelines, heat plants and thermal points, the investments and costs needed to make the production and distribution of heat more efficient, the technological consumption and losses of power in the pipelines of Termocom. If the commission identifies irregularities in the company’s business and financial records, the ANRE will make them public and will take the corresponding measures so that they are removed. The Agency is inspecting S.A.Termocom according to its yearly working program. In 2010, the ANRE will carry out audits at S.A.Moldovagaz and its 11 daughter companies. Under the legislation, the ANRE supervises how the license holders working in the energy sector respect the legislation and set tariffs and their commercial activity.
