ANRCETI will use special phone call pricing methods

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) will employ special methods to calculate the price of fixed-line and mobile phone services, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the regulator. On its website, the Agency published the pricing methods that are based on the LRIC (Long-Run Incremental Cost) methodology. They will be used to ensure the adjustment of the tariffs on interconnection services to the level of economic costs. The bottom-up pricing methods describe the costs of a hypothetical network that serves subscribers in Moldova and can satisfy their needs in the telephone traffic. The final pricing methods were worked out with the assistance of consultants of the technical assistance project implemented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development at the ANRCETI. In 2010, following a recommendation made by the European Commission, the Agency decided to fix tariff ceilings for phone services at the level of the LRIC cost. It set the date of December 31, 2013 as a deadline for adjusting the tariffs on data services to the LRIC cost for the entitled fixed-line and mobile phone service providers.
