ANPC Administration Board will have fewer members
The numerical composition of the Administration Board of the National Agency for Competition Protection (ANPC) will be reduced from seven to five members, who will be named by Parliament. The amendment forms part of a legislative initiative put forward by MP Veaceslav Ionita.
The lawmaker has told Info-Prim Neo that currently three members of the Board are named by the legislature, while four by the ANPC director. “The amendment provides for the appointment of five members by Parliament. This is a general rule that exists at all the agencies of the kind,” said Veaceslav Ionita.
Another proposed amendment refers to the ANPC’s budget. It will be approved by Parliament, not the Government. “This agency’s budget will be adopted by Parliament and then incorporated into the state budget,” said the MP.
A member of the Administration Board will be able to hold the post for at most 10 years.
According to the author, the bill will be submitted to the legislative body for adoption in the near future.
