ANPC accuses Apa-Canal Chisinau of abuse of dominant position

The National Agency for Competition Protection (ANPC) accuses Apa-Canal Chisinau SA of abuse of dominant position on the market. In a communiqué cited by Info-Prim Neo, ANPC says that Apa-Canal Chisinau obliged the household consumers to replace the water meters before they were out of use and instructed what types of meters to purchase and from what companies. The water supplier is also accused of misinforming the consumers about the costs of purchasing, designing, installing and running the water meters. ANPC issued a notice, demanding that Apa-Canal Chisinau allow the consumers to choose the type of meter they want, from among those authorized in Moldova, and inform the consumers and economic entities about this through mass media. If the water supplier does not comply, it will be sued so that it will have to yield a part of its revenues, the communiqué says.
