Another two government officials publish their income statements

Another two government officials – Health Minister Andrei Usatii and Deputy Prime Minister Moldovanu – posted their income statements on governmental websites, the Independent Press Association (API) said in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Numerous officials are still expected to do the same, including five ministers, one deputy prime minister, the president of the Academy of Sciences, the president of the Constitutional Court and the judges. Of the 101 members of Parliament, only Speaker Marian Lupu published his 2010 income declaration on the legislature's official website. The 15 days' term when the Central Control Commission (CCC) was due to verify the accuracy of the declarations and compare them to those submitted the previous year expired on February 21. Neither the CCC nor the department commissions have finished the verifications yet, and they don't have a list of the officials who failed to submit their income declarations by January 30. It should be mentioned that the CCC was only established last week, when Parliament appointed three delegates to the Commission. “We will convene a meeting by mid-week to elect the secretary and the chair of the Commission. Shortly after that, we will reveal the information we have, including the list of the persons who didn't submit their declarations of income and assets. The officials who failed to do this will face punishment according to the law”, CCC member Vadim Enicov told API. During the next 30 days, or until April 5, the CCC and the department commissions should verify the accuracy of the information submitted by the officials. Considering that the preliminary deadline expired on February 21, the Anticorruption Alliance requested the CCC to present information on the persons who didn't declare their incomes and assets. Some members of Parliament also supported this initiative, requesting that such information be presented at the next session of the legislature. In addition, Prime Minister Vlad Filat recently instructed relevant authorities to present data on the income (including salary, benefits and incidental pays) of the managers and directors of the companies entirely or partially owned by the state. As of February 22, twenty-four officials published their income statements on the respective websites.
