A prosecutor from Floresti district was arrested and is held in the detention facility of the National Anticorruption Center. He is suspected of demanding 2000 lei from a man in order to stop criminal proceedings against him on charges of theft, IPN reports.

According to the General Prosecutor's Office, during the search of the suspect's office, the officers found 2000 lei in marked bills that were offered as a bribe.

Earlier this week, another prosecutor was arrested in Ocnita, together with an accomplice, on charges of corruption.
