Five more heads of Baccalaureate centers were dismissed following irregularities identified during the second Baccalaureate exam, in the foreign language. The secretary of a center was also dismissed and tens of supervisors are to be replaced. The decisions were taken in an extraordinary meeting of the National Exams Commission that involved Baccalaureate center heads, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Education Mihail Shleahtitski told a news conference that they discussed every case separately, including at the Baccalaureate centers housed by the theoretical lyceums “A. Pushkin” in Soroca, “Ana Munteanu” in Ialoveni, “Olanesti” in Stefan Voda, “M. Eminescu” in Falesti, “M. Eliade” in Nisporeni, “V. Vasilache” in Chisinau and by Sports School No 2 in Chisinau. Adrian Ghicov, director of the Assessment and Examination Agency, said the heads of the Baccalaureate centers of the high schools “A. Pushkin” in Soroca, “Ana Munteanu” in Ialoveni and “Olanesti” in Stefan Voda were dismissed and banned from holding this post for a period of three years. The papers of the three candidates caught copying will be annulled, while the supervisors overseeing the exams in those halls will be substituted. The other heads dismissed are those of the Baccalaureate centers of “M. Eminescu” lyceum in Falesti and of “M. Eliade” lyceum in Nisporeni. The heads of the Baccalaureate center of the Chisinau-based Sports School No 2 and of “V. Vasilache” lyceum received severe reprimands. Earlier this week, the Ministry of Education announced that three Baccalaureate center heads and the chairman of a district examination commission were discharged for allowing serious deviations from the methodology of organizing and holding the Baccalaureate exams of the 2012 session.
