Another film produced in Moldova wins Grand Prix at “Golden Beggar” Festival in Slovakia
The documentary film “A Mother of the Kingdom of Shadows,” produced by OWH Studio, Chisinau, Moldova has been awarded the Grand Prix at the XIII International Festival of Local Televisions “Golden Beggar” held in Kosice, Slovakia, the most important festival of this genre in Europe.
According to Victoria Coroban from the OWH Studio press office, the film portraits the relationship between imprisoned the mothers and their children. “The law says we are offenders. The documentary had been shot during 2006 in the Women’s Penitentiary Nr. 7 in Rusca, and was directed by Violeta Gorgos. The photography was signed by Marin Iliut, with the film’s idea belonging to him, and by Vlad Druc.
The film was produced with the financial support of PNUD Moldova under the Act-2006 Programme, in cooperation with the Department of Penitentiary Institutions.
