FC Costuleni on Monday suffered another embarrassing defeat in the mid-season preparatory campaign in the Turkish resort of Antalya, this time in a friendly with the 2nd Bundesliga-placed SC Karlsruher, 3-8. This is the third defeat administered by a German club in Antalya to Velizar Popov's side, after 0-6 against Aahlen and 0-5 against FC Nuremberg. FC Costuleni will play the last two friendlies in this preparatory tournament on January 17 and 20 against the Kazakh FK Sunkar and the Romanian Astra Ploiesti, respectively. Another Moldovan club currently training in Antalya fared better: CSCA Rapid Ghidighici bested Kazakhstan's vice-champions Zhetysu, 3-2. On January 18, Rapid will encounter another Kazakh team, FC Taraz. The same day, Sheriff Tiraspol will play the Russian Terek Groznyi in their first preparatory match in Antalya.
