Sixty more infections with the novel coronavirus were confirmed in Moldova on May 10, with 13 of them being among healthcare workers, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
All the new infections are local transmission cases. The largest number of cases was recorded in in Ceadâr-Lunga, Edineț and Basarabeasca. A total of 546 new and rerun tests have been performed today.
Four more infected persons lost the battle with the virus. The victims include a man and a woman from Chisinau, a man from Nisporeni district and a woman from Sângerei district. These were aged between 58 and 83 and all suffered from different diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, respiratory insufficiency and bilateral pneumonia.
The number of infections with COVID-19 rose to 4,927. As many as 1,958 infected persons were cured, while 169 died.
