A number of 42 more legal entities were empowered to provide public electronic communications networks and services. The authorizations were issued by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) in the first half of this year, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the ANRCETI, 26 of the authorized legal entities newly entered the market, while 16 are former holders of licenses allowing working in the electronic communications sector. Among the most popular public electronic communications services were the Internet access, telephone and programs retransmission services.

On July 1, the companies authorized to work in the electronic communications sector totaled 521.
