Another 20 ventilators bought as part of the World Bank-funded Moldova Emergency COVID-19 Response Project were distributed to health facilities in a move to cope with the number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in a serious state, who need assisted ventilation, Minister of Health Viorica Dumbrăveanu announced through her Facebook page.
Another 250 ventilators purchased in the framework of the same project are to be supplied to Moldova and will be used to strengthen the capacities of the national intensive care units.
As many as 289 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 are in a serious state in hospitals at present and 61 of them were put on a ventilator. Viorica Dumbrăveanu urged the population to obey the protective measures and to call the family doctor or the 112 Service on the first symptoms of infection.
