The novel coronavirus on April 24 was detected in 184 persons of the 857 processed samples. The number of infections now exceeds 3,000. Of the over 3,000 infections confirmed so far, 755 persons got cured, while 84 died, IPN reports.
According to Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu, 59 of the new cases were recorded in Chisinau, while 47 in Vulcănești. These were all local transmission cases.
The minister noted that persons from hotbeds are being intensively tested for COVID-19. The infections confirmed in Vulcănești derived from an infection case discovered at a winery.
Employees of Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 4 of Chisinau were also tested on April 24 and 12 persons there were confirmed with COVID-19. The hospital does not treat patients with COVID-19.
Four deaths were also reported today: two women from Chisinau, a woman from Edineț and a man from Ștefan Vodă.
