Eighteen citizens of the Republic of Moldova were evacuated from the Republic of Lebanon and landed safely at the airport in Belgrade, Serbia. The group of evacuated citizens includes mainly women, children and people with health problems, IPN reports.
The Moldovan citizens will be repatriated to the Republic of Moldova on Wednesday.
“The evacuation was possible thanks to the complex efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutional partners – members of the MFA Crisis Cell, of our diplomatic missions in Turkey, accredited for the Republic of Lebanon, and in Bucharest, accredited for Serbia, thanks to the support of the Serbian authorities and IOM,” reads a press release.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that it is preparing the evacuation from Lebanon of ten more citizens who requested the assistance of the authorities.
