Another 150 computers transmitted to 30 national education institutions

A number of 150 laptops to the value of about 2 million lei donated by the South Korea were passed on by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research to 30 education institutions of 26 territorial-administrative units. Each institution will receive by five laptops, IPN reports.

In a news conference on October 13, Minister of Education Igor Sharov said the Ministry’s major goal is to provide computers to as many national education institutions as possible and the support of the development partners in this regard is extremely important.

In November, the partners from South Korea will make one more donation of 150 computers in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of information and communication technology between the Ministry of Education of Moldova and the Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education of the Jeju Province of the Republic of Korea.

As part of this Memorandum, the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education in 2016-2019 donated 600 computers (by 150 a year). The computers were distributed to education institutions in Moldova. Priority is given to general education institutions with a considerable shortage of computers and that have the status of district school.

Also, Moldovan teachers each year benefit from two-week training in South Korea. In 2015-2019, 100 informatics teachers were involved in such training courses. This year the training will be held online during October 26-28.
