Another 14,400 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines against COVID-19, in addition to the 21,600 doses provided by Romania several days ago, will be shipped to Moldova on March 4. The batch is provided through the COVAX platform, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection Tatiana Zatyk informed at the beginning of the Cabinet meeting, IPN reports.
According to the official, the vaccination campaign in Moldova was kicked off on March 2 and a number of medical institutions already completed the immunization with vaccines from the available batch.
The 14,400 doses expected tomorrow will also be distributed for immunizing frontline health workers.
Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi said that in a meeting held earlier today, they considered the possibility of allocating additional financial resources for purchasing vaccines from the international market. After the Medicines Agency registered the vaccines homologated for the Republic of Moldova, the procurement procedure can be launched, but this is rather difficult.
