Announcement of final election results postponed till Monday
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has postponed until Monday, December 6, the sitting at which it will announce the final results of the November 28 parliamentary elections, CEC Secretary Iurie Ciocan has told Info-Prim Neo.
The CEC was initially supposed to hold that sitting on Thursday and then it was postponed until Saturday, with the reason being that not all the hard copies of the ballot protocols arrived in from all the polling stations across the country. Now the CEC is still waiting for the ballot protocols from the polling stations in the US and Canada.
The results announced upon the processing of 100% of the protocols that came to the CEC in digital form are considered to be preliminary. The hard copies are yet to be examined before announcing declaring the results final.
According to the preliminary results, the PCRM won 42 seats in Parliament, the PLDM 32 seats, the PDM 15 seats, and the PL 12 seats.
