Writer Spiridon Vangheli turns 85 on June 14. On this occasion, the branch of the National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” housed by the Theater “Licurici” will stage an anniversary performance entitled “The child lives in my soul”, IPN reports.
“The childhood writer turns 85 and continues to gladden the readers with new books. A new book will be launched this time as well. This is “Craita”. The participants in the event will be able to listen to several fragments that will be read by actor Vitalie Rusu, People’s Artist,” the National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” says in a press release.
Writers Mihai Cimpoi, Arcadie Suceveanu, Vasile Romanciuc and Nicolae Dabija will also be near Spiridon Vangheli.
Children of the Secondary School No. 7, Primary School “Antonin Ursu”, Lyceums “Gh. Asachi” and “George Meniuc” will present famous personages from Spiridon Vangheli’s works on the stage and essays. Ionel Prodan of the Lyceum “Socrate” and Anastasia Pereteatcu of the Lyceum “Prometeu-Junior” prepared for the beloved writer several songs based on poems written by Grigore Vieru, who was Vangheli’s friend.
The National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” will mount a broad exhibition of books entitled “I write about and for the child from my soul”. This will include translations of Vangheli’s works in a number of languages.
