Annex to AEI agreement says joint vote with PCRM is banned

The annex to the agreement on the formation of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) that was signed by the member parties on December 16 includes six points. The text was published on the website of the Liberal Party, Info-Prim Neo reports. The first point says the member parties of the AEI pledge to guarantee the continuity of the democratic governance and not to allow re-forming the alliance with the participation of the opposition. It excludes separate negotiations, separate voting and a joint vote with the PCRM aimed at re-forming the government and constituting another parliamentary majority. In the second point, the components of the AEI confirm their commitment to vote to elect the President of Moldova and the Head of Parliament. The third point provides for ensuring full political support to the AEI Government, Parliament and the Presidential Office during the mandate of the 19th legislature and to the President of Moldova elected by this legislature. Under the fourth point, the signatories will make effort to depoliticize the law enforcement bodies, based on the consultations in the AEI Council. The annex also says that the tenure of the President of Moldova elected by the 19th legislature will not exceed the mandate of the 19th legislature. The head of state will resign voluntarily when the Parliament’s mandate expires. The annex is an integral part of the AEI agreement signed on December 30, 2010. It came into force when signed and will expire when the agreement expires. The document was signed by the head of the Liberal Democrat Party Vlad Filat, the chairman of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu and the Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu.
