Ankara will continue to support Moldova’s reintegration – Turkish official
Turkey will continue to support Moldova’s integrity and make efforts within the frameworks of international forums towards the reunification of Moldova, stated Yasar Yakis, Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s EU Integration Committee during a meeting with Speaker Marian Lupu.
According to the Parliament press service, Yakis mentioned that Turkey supported actively the GUAM appeal to the UN to include the issue of frozen conflicts in the agenda of its session.
The official specified that Turkey pays a particular attention to the Black Sea cooperation and pleaded for enlarging the items to be discussed within the frameworks of the Black Sea Cooperation.
In turn, Lupu pleaded for intensifying trade and economic relations between the two countries, welcoming, on the other hand, the participation of Turkish investors on Moldova’s market. Moldova is interested in developing and strengthening its bilateral relations with Turkey, including via taking up this country’s experience in dealing with EU, as well as via attracting new investments in the Moldovan economy”, Lupu added.
A delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey is paying a visit to Moldova in the period from December 5 to 8.
