German Chancellor Angela Merkel will be greeted at the airport with bread and salt. The official arrives at 2:35pm to Chisinau. Ministry of Interior’s Press Officer Ala Diaconu told Info-Prim Neo that the Honor Guard will attend the protocol military ceremonial. The soldiers will wear parade uniforms that are white and gala attire – gray. “It is a regular ceremonial, with a greeting, welcoming, military honors and the singing of German and Moldovan anthems by the presidential orchestra. Afterwards the soldiers will march at a parade pace”, mentioned Ala Diaconu. Lilia Gurez, Head of the Executive’s Press Service, stated that Angela Merkel will be greeted by three persons dressed in national costumes, with bread and butter, and several children will give the high-ranking official flowers. The German Chancellor will be joined to Chisinau by a delegation of about 50 people. This is the first visit of the German Chancellor to Moldova.
