The parliamentary elections of 2019 will represent a turning point on the path of the Republic of Moldova. That’s why a correct electoral process before and after the elections should be something normal, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Moldova Angela Ganninger stated in a reception held on the occasion of the German Unity Day, IPN reports.
Angela Ganninger noted that in time, Germany and the European Union, on the one side, and the Republic of Moldova, on the other side, came much closer to each other. It is important to continuously cover the given road in concert and to achieve the set objectives. “Today we enjoy a liberalized visa regime and profound and comprehensive economic relations. This is due to the broad negotiations and good preparations,” stated the diplomat.
According to the ambassador, October 3 is a very important day for Germany and the whole Europe. “The confirmation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova took place practically in the same period of time as the reintegration of Germany. Even if the historical experiences between our countries are different, we had and will continue to have feelings of mutual friendship,” stated Angela Ganninger.
The military orchestra Würzburg/Veitshöchheim of the German Bundestag created the atmosphere at the event.
The German Unity Day has been celebrated annually on October 3 since 1990, this being the national holiday of the Federal Republic of Germany.
