Andrian Mardare obtained a new medal in javelin throw. Valeriu Lungu’s pupil won bronze at the European Athletics U23 Championships that took place in the Polish town Bydgoszcz, IPN reports.
Mardare scored the result of 78.76 meters, being outstripped by Hungary’s Norbert Rivasz-Toth, who set a new record for Hungary, 83.08m, and Greece’s Ioannis Kiriazis, 81.04m. It should be noted that last month the Moldovan athlete achieved a better result in the European Championships, League 2 – 83.93m. This is Moldova’s record and this result would have enabled him to become European U23 champion.
Andrian Mardare also medaled bronze at the World Under 20 Championships of 2014 and gold at the European Throwing Cup in Spain.
