The new pro-European alliance and the new government are to be formed within three weeks as the IMF mission is to come to Chisinau to sign the financing agreement with the Moldova at the end of November, Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.
“It’s not the case to hold interminable discussions. The winter is coming. There are many problems. We must negotiate a new agreement on the purchase of natural gas with Russia. The electric power and natural gas tariffs could be raised. There are socially groups of people who need support. The term is real. We all have pro-European views. We have a government program that we consider good. For the IMF mission to come at the end of November, by November 15-20 we must have a Prime Minister and a Government that will send an invitation letter so that those from Washington return to Moldova in the nearest future,” stated the Speaker.
Andrian Candu said concrete actions will be taken to eradicate corruption. “Very harsh measures will be taken. Some of the ideas were borrowed from the plan presented by Valeriu Strelet. There is a working group drafting a package of anticorruption laws at the Ministry of Justice, which includes representatives of civil society. The National Anticorruption Center could be reformed by the model of the National Anticorruption Directorate of Romania and this could include the National Integrity Commission. There could be formed a specialized Prosecutor’s Office and a specialized court of law. We would have supported the PLDM’s initiative to dismiss the director of the NAC and the prosecutor general, but not now, when such a serious and extensive investigation was opened. The prosecutor general is the only one who can request removing the parliamentary immunity. Such a necessity can yet appear following the deprivation of Filat of immunity,” stated the Head of Parliament.
Andrian Candu does not rule out the possibility that the formation of a pro-European alliance will fail. “We will find solutions. It is too early to say now which these are. We must not offer reasons for speculations,” he said.
