Concrete solutions for the people’s benefit should be identified to the Transnistrian conflict by the end of this year, stated Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu, who is waiting for relevant proposals from the Government, which would be discussed in the talks in the 5+2 format, IPN reports.
After the meeting of the parliamentary platform for reunification policy consultation and control held on September 29, Andrian Candu said Deputy Prime Minister for Reunification Gheorghe Balan informed the MPs about the developments in the negotiation process and the difficulties existing on particular segments.
In particular, there were discussed issues of the so-called package “Four plus”, which includes four key issues, namely: apostilling of graduation diplomas; license plates; telecommunications, and the criminal cases against Transnistrians, in particular officials, handled by the Prosecutor General’s Office. There were also discussed the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with the EU all over the country.
After the meeting, Andrian Candu told the press that he went to Romania not only to offer apologies in the context of the statements made by President Igor Dodon, but to also reiterate a number of moments related to the bilateral cooperation. “We discussed and tried to make progress in addressing the energy projects. We conferred with directly involved persons so as to hasten the implementation of the key project – the Chisinau – Iasi gas pipeline – so that 2018 is the year of its completion, while 2019 is the year of the putting of the gas pipeline into operation,” stated the Speaker.
There was also discussed the preliminary program for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Union that will be marked in 2018. This will include a series of events that will underline the historical importance of this day.
