Andrian Candu: Personally, I’m disappointed that Maia Sandu lost

“Personally, I’m disappointed that the right lost, that Maia Sandu lost,” Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu said when asked by journalists to comment on the demands that the administration of the Central Election Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be discharged, formulated by sympathizers of the presidential candidate of the right.

“As a voter of the candidate of the right, I’m disappointed that Maia Sandu lost. But we must admit that in a competition, one wins and the other one loses. We must have political maturity and political education to accept when we lose. If we fall, we shake our clothes out and go on,” stated Andrian Candu.

As to the holding of elections, Andrian Candu said the law was fully respected. “Neither the CEC nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can be blamed for applying the law and all those who seek dismissals should ask themselves why they ask this as the law was fully implemented. The international observers who monitored the elections confirmed that the elections were held correctly and legally,” stated the Speaker, adding that he hopes electronic voting will be in place by the next elections.
