Andrian Candu discusses with experts of Venice Commission

Head of Parliament Andrian Candu met with the Venice Commission experts who are in Moldova on a visit. The discussion centered on the reformation of the prosecution service, IPN reports.

According to the Parliament’s press service, Andrian Candu said the working group dealing with the reformation of the prosecution service, formed on a parliamentary platform, seriously carried out its tasks and worked a lot to identify solutions that will help build an efficient, independent, transparent, professional and responsible justice sector that would meet the best international standards and would ensure the rule of law and the observance of human rights.

“It is a necessary law that requires consistency, while the appraisal of the Venice Commission will help us to change things and to ensure the modernization of justice for the Moldovan people’s benefit,” stated Andrian Candu.

A team of experts of the Venice Commission came to Chisinau on a two-day visit, at the invitation of the Ministry of Justice. The Commission’s official opinion about the bill on the reformation of the prosecution service will be presented in March.
