The leader of the Pro Moldova Party Andrian Candu said his party’s decision whether to vote for the Government of Natalia Gavrilița or not will be determined by the candidate’s real intentions to govern the country. The program proposed by Gavrilița is good, but if she asks the MPs not to vote for her Cabinet, this program cannot be supported. Moreover, if the first attempt to vote in the Government fails, a majority could be formed by them together with the Socialists and the Democrats.
The MP noted that given the pandemic and economic crisis experienced by Moldova, the presence of an outgoing Government does nothing but worsen the situation as an interim Cabinet cannot access foreign funds and cannot negotiate international treaties.
“Even if there are snap elections, the country needs to be governed. Until a new Government is formed after the snap elections that could be held in September-October, there will be a period of ten months during which the country will not be governed. This is serious,” Andrian Candu stated in the talk show “Secrets of the Power” on Jurnal TV channel.
Andrian Candu said the seven MPs of their party will decide how to vote after Natalia Gavrilița says it clearly whether she wants to assume governance or not. They are for the appointment of an anti-crisis government and they could vote for such a government together with the Socialist and Democratic MPs.
“An anti-crisis government is the best solution. As there are political forces in Parliament that together can assume responsibility fort the country and can odentity an apolitical, technocratic candidate for Prime Minister, why not?” said the MP.
Under the law, Parliament is dissolved and snap elections are called if the MPs cannot vote in a Government by two attempts during 45 days.
