Andrei Tranga: Prosecution groups fought for influence over Plahotniuc

Andrei Tranga, owner of a renowned network of pizzerias and restaurants, on whose behalf a criminal case for blackmail and influence peddling was opened, claims that his arrest was linked to the name of the former chief prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office Viorel Morari to discredit him and to remove him from office. The businessman says that within the Prosecutor's Office there were two "groups" who were fighting "for influence over Vladimir Plahotniuc". The statements were made during "Black Box" TV show on TV8, IPN reports.

"As far as I understand, there were two" groups ": Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crimes and Special Cases (PCCOCS) and the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office and the prosecutors from PCCOCS, and Chitoroagă (former PCCOCS chief), with his team, decided to show who is more important. The struggle between them was for the influence over Plahotniuc, whose opinion Plahotniuc would listen to, and they were trying to discredit each other. I also heard about Adriana Bețișor being involved," specified the businessman.

Andrei Tranga says that "this machine they created began to swallow them up." "The settlement of accounts started between them, a clan, then another clan, already inside the Democratic Party, as far as I understand, we have also been linked to Viorel Morari, most likely, in order to have the possibility of removing him from office, compromising him with some dirty case, and at the same time, also putting us in our place, "said Tranga.

The businessman says he had a meeting with two people close to the former PDM leader Vladimir Plahotniuc from which he concluded that one of the interests related to his case was the "war" between the clans of prosecutors and the dismissal of Viorel Morari.

Andrei Tranga sincerely thanked Maia Sandu, Andrei Năstase and Igor Dodon, "because Vladimir Plahotniuc is no longer in power, while I am free".

At the end of April, businessman Andrei Tranga was detained by PCCOCS prosecutors in a criminal case opened for blackmail and trading in influence. According to the prosecutors, Tranga allegedly tried to take over a business.
