Andrei Perpelita had a successful performance at the international freestyle wrestling tournament in Poland. He finished second in the 61 kg class after bearing vice champion Beka Lomtadze of Georgia 18-10 in the semifinals, IPN reports.
In the final, Perpelita lost to Olympic champion Vladimer Khinchegashvili of Georgia, who beat him also in this year’s European championships, where the Moldovan wrestler won bronze. Andrei Perpelita from Stefan Voda medalled bronze at the European Wrestling Championships three times.
The international tournament “Ziolkowski, Pytlasinski & Poland Open” is held during July 7-9. The squad trained by Alexandr Zubrilin also includes Maxim Sacultan (65 kg), Mihail Sava (70 kg), Denis Balaur (86 kg) and Nicolae Ceban (97 kg).
