Andrei Pantea says he wasn’t informed about hunting incident
Acting prosecutor general Andrei Pantea said that his inferiors didn’t inform him immediately about the December 23 hunting incident that resulted in the death of a man. After he was questioned by the parliamentary commission of inquiry on February 1, he told the journalists that he found out about this case when it was made public, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Andrei Pantea said that an internal inquiry was started to determine the way the prosecutors handled this case. He sent a letter of recommendation to his inferiors, telling them they should refrain from making statements about cases that are not within their remit so as not to affect the investigations.
Pantea also said that the Prosecutor General’s Office influenced in no way the Falesti prosecutors into hiding this case, as it is rumored. According to him, the collected proofs are not enough for accusing former judge Gheorghe Cretu, who is the only one investigated for accidental killing in the
Domneasca Forest.
