Andrei Nastase’s party submits subscription lists to CEC

The initiative group for collecting signatures in favor of the leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPDA) Andrei Nastase, who intends to run for President, on September 12 presented the collected signatures to the Central Election Commission. The party’s leader said they collected 25,000 signatures of voters from 29 territorial-administrative units, IPN reports.

“The presidential elections mean the start of the end for the current government,” stated Andrei Nastase, pledging to shed light in the case of the banking frauds. According to him, the Head of State will become a shield for the people.

The Commission is to examine the documents presented by the PPDA during seven days. If all the applicants who submitted the signatures before Nastase are registered, the PPDA leader can be the fourth on the list of candidates in the ballot.

Also today, Andrei Nastase made an appeal to the diaspora, calling on the Moldovans who are abroad to combine forces and become involved so as to free the country from the current regime. He urged them to take part in the elections, to demand that more polling places should be established where they live and, what is more important, to encourage the people who remained at home not to be afraid and to make use of the chance and destroy the corrupt system.
