Andrei Năstase: We will opt for a single group in CMC

The leader of Dignity and Truth Platform Party (PPDA) Andrei Năstase, the one who lost the competition for the mayoral seat of Chisinau municipality in favour of the Socialist candidate Ion Ceban, says that the party led by him will opt for the ACUM bloc to have only one group in the Chisinau Municipal Council. Andrei Năstase maintains that this is the PPDA decision, but the second component of the bloc - the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) - has not yet taken a decision in this regard, IPN reports.

"My personal choice, as in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, was to be part of the same group. However, in Parliament we have two groups. What happened happened. I continue to advocate a single group in Chisinau Municipal Council because I think this is the right choice,” declared Andrei Năstase on "Emphasis on Today" program, TVR Moldova.

According to him, at the level of the two parties, PPDA and PAS, no final decision has yet been made in this regard. "Now we have two parties. At the level of the Dignity and Truth Platform, we decided that this is the right thing to do - to come together, let’s see what our colleagues from PAS will decide because we can only get together if both of us want the same thing,” continued the politician.

After suffering defeat in the second round of local elections in the capital, Andrei Năstase says that the PPDA will strengthen its partnerships and change its configuration.
