Andrei Nastase: We will not give up

The leaders of the Civic Platform "Dignity and Truth" pursue no hidden goal and have no secret agreement with the government or a secret agenda for the protest scheduled for September 13, one of the Platform's leaders Andrei Nastase, who heads the Great National Assembly's Council, told a news conference, commenting on the accusation that the leaders of the protesters prepare an agreement with the authorities, IPN reports.

"Nobody has a hidden agenda and nobody can deviate from what they were entrusted to do. Nobody will deviate from the Proclamation of the Great National Assembly. We call on the social segments that expressed their intention to joint the Platform to come to the Great National Assembly Square in a large number," stated Andrei Nastase.

In a news cfonference on September 12, Vasile Costiuc, who heads the Political Party “Democracy at Home”, said the Platform's leaders intend to reach an agreement with the authorities. These plan to propose an alternative government so that this is voted in by Parliament in a move to avoid early elections. He noted that some discredited persons from the Platform should withdraw and should allow upright persons to lead the protest movement.
