The founding president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPDA) Andrei Năstase leveled new criricim at the PAS governemtn. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the way in which the energy crisis is managed in Moldova and with the social crisis generated by the rise in the purchase price of gas. Andrei Năstase recommended the authorities to consider the possibility of instituting rigorous control of prices of bare essentials, by the example of a number of states of the region. He noted the party will be critical of the government, but will also offer solutions in times of crises, IPN reports.
Andrei Năstase said PAS, which gained an enormous credit of trust from the citizens, inappropriately manages the energy, sanitary, economic and social crises experienced by Moldova. PPPDA is critical of the power, but also suggests solutions.
“We chose to be in constructive, but very harsh opposition. In the recent past, we have seen all kinds of opinion leaders who try to equate PPDA with PSRM, PCRM and Șor Party, which only criticize as this is the role of the opposition. We will be in opposition as the citizens decided we should be there, but we will be reasonable and responsible. We realize well the current regional context. It’s true that we can also mount protests,” Andrei Năstase stated in the program “Prime Time” on PrimeTV channel.
Năstase said his party has the experience of antigovernment protests and warned that if things in the country do not improve, the people can look for justice on the streets again as corruption continues to flourish.
“The government should think about the people and should solve the problem of incomes and prices and do so that the people are able to pay the bills. Any of the protests mounted by PPDA was for the benefit of the people and these weren’t destructive in character, as it happened on April 7,” stated Andrei Năstase.
Earlier, PPDA announced the creation of a consultative council that will provide sound expertise to the current government. Representatives of the party said that they already started discussions with national and foreign energy and agriculture experts so as to produce solutions to the problems faced by the Republic of Moldova.
