The president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase, co-president of the Bloc ACUM, said the entity he represents does not want snap elections, but if these are held, he will go to the voters to explain how things stand to them. The issue was developed in the program “Important” on TVC21 channel, IPN reports.
“We do not want snap elections, but if these take place, we will go to the voters to explain to them how things stand, who formed an alliance with the intention of paralyzing the Parliament’s work, who didn’t want to work,” stated the politician.
Andrei Năstase wondered why the Democratic Party and the Party of Socialists do not assume governance if they publicly say that the Bloc ACUM is to blame for the created situation.
As to the local elections, Andrei Năstase said the Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc and the unofficial leader of the PSRM Igor Dodon are looking for solutions to delay the election of the mayor general of Chisinau municipality by the citizens of the capital city. They want the new mayor to be elected by a council. “Plahotniuc and Dodon intend to agree the annulment of the election of the mayor of Chisinau by the people and to make this the duty of a council, as in the past,” stated the politician.
As regards President Igor Dodon’s approach to the Constitutional Court to clarify when the Head of State can dissolve Parliament if a parliamentary majority is not formed, Năstase said Dodon shouldn’t have gone to Court as the Constitution clearly describes the steps that should be taken in such a case.
