Andrei Năstase: We categorically do not bank on votes of Shor Party

The leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) Andrei Năstase insists on the idea of voting in a minority Government that would alleviate the effects of the pandemic and the economic crisis and would prepare the country for snap parliamentary elections. Năstase said he excludes from the start any pact with the MPs of the Shor Party, but made it clear that they would accept the votes of the Socialist MPs, as the Sandu Government in 2019 was voted in with the support of the Socialists, IPN reports.

The politician noted that he offered President Sandu and the PAS MPs the alternative of a minority government so as to thwart the Socialists in their intention to invest a government that would be controlled by the PSRM-Shor majority. Năstase said his party pleads for snap parliamentary elections, but not at the cost of a complete chaos in the country.

“We should not allow a government created by the PSRM-Shor majority to be voted in and should prevent chaos and an impasse toward which we are already heading. We offered our partners from the PAS this alternative - assumption of the government by the PPPDA based on a dialogue with the pro-European parties first of all. If we do not manage to vote in a minority government, we can trigger snap elections,” Andrei Năstase stated in the program “Natalia Morari’s Politics” on Tv8 channel.

The leader of the PPPDA made it clear that they bank also on the votes of the Socialists, but categorically reject any vote from the MPs of the Shor Party.

“In any Parliament, we have people who can change their mind at a certain moment. We do not bank on the votes of the Shor Party. These are excluded. We clearly detach ourselves from this party that we want to be outlawed. Missis Sandu was voted in Prime Minster with the assistance of the Socialists. Our proposal is intended for the pro-European parties and those who think that an anti-crisis government is needed,” stated Andrei Năstase.

He avoided giving the names of the members of the potential Cabinet that he would like to manage and expressed his confidence that the judges of the Constitutional Court will declare the President’s decree by which Natalia Gavrilița was nominated for premiership for the second time unconstitutional.
