Andrei Năstase: There are signals that voters started to be corrupted

Even if the campaign prior to the presidential elections wasn’t yet officially launched, information about cases of corruption of citizens and use of administrative resources started already to come from different regions of the country, said the leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) Andrei Năstase, noting that by such illegalities, manipulations and pressure, the elections can be rigged, IPN reports.

In a news conference, Andrei Năstase called on the pro-European political forces to fight on a common front so as to defend the vote given by the people. “We should devote special attention to the authorities’ intention to proliferate and intensify one of the most efficient methods of vote rigging that was put into practice by using and remunerating voters from the Transnistrian region. We saw intensification in the relations between Igor Dodon and the so-called Transnistrian leader. The CEC‘s intention to establish more polling stations intended for citizens from the Transnistrian region is also worrisome,” stated the politician.

The PPPDA intends to insist on the introduction of harsh penalties for the organized transportation of voters and for remunerated voting.

“I’m convinced that being supported by reasonable people with dignity who want improvements in Moldova, I will beat Igor Dodon, basing on the confidence and freely expressed vote of all the citizens, regardless of the political color, confession and ethnicity,” noted Andrei Năstase.
