Andrei Nastase says police tolerate his denigration

The leader of the Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) Andrei Nastase said the actions to denigrate him continued on July 31 after brochures belittling him were disseminated in the center of Chisinau on July 31. According to him, mobile boxes with messages that put him in embarrassing situations were installed in central Chisinau last night, IPN reports.

In a press briefing given in front of the Ministry of the Interior on July 31, Andrei Nastase said the measures to spoil his image are taken under the auspices of the police, by order of the Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc, through the agency of Minister of the Interior Alexandru Jizdan. Even if he does not trust the police, he submitted a challenge to the police to show that the police officers do not serve the people’s interests.

The PPPDA leader reminded that he was earlier subject to similar denigration campaigns and informed the police about these, but nothing was done. Now he requested the police to investigate the case and to determine where and who ordered these denigrating leaflets to be printed.

After the events of July 30 and 31, the police announced that they are investigating the circumstances.
