Mayor-elect Andrei Nastase asked to replace the panel of judges of the Supreme Court of Justice that is examining the challenge filed by his lawyer to the Appeals Court’s decision to uphold the ordinary court’s judgement by which the early mayoral elections held in Chisinau municipality were invalidated.

In the protest mounted in front of the Supreme Court of Justice, Andrei Nastase said the application to replace the judges was accepted and the hearing is held behind closed doors.

The mayor-elect noted the current panel of judges includes the president of the Supreme Court of Justice Ion Druta, who should stay in jail for appropriation of public funds and who fulfils the criminal orders of the leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc.
