Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Năstase, Minster of the Interior, said he denounced the attempted usurpation of the state power to the Prosecutor General’s Office and requested the prosecutor general to take legal action and, based on the accumulated evidence, to seek the urgent lifting of the parliamentary immunity of Democratic MP Vlad Plahotniuc, IPN reports.
“Namely this individual with multiple identities and multiple nationalities, including Russian one, planned the usurpation of the state power and the coup,” Andrei Năstase stated in his speech in Parliament while the MPs were considering setting up a commission of inquiry for elucidating the circumstances of the attempted anti-constitutional putsch staged by the Democratic Party through the Constitutional Court and the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Andrei Năstase noted that according to the information of the Ministry of the Interior, Vlad Plahotniuc and Ilan Shor, who reportedly fled Moldova, are actually in the country. He called on the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine to find out if the two left the country through the Transnistrian region where Moldova does not have exact control mechanisms. The two could leave by plane as “a corridor for bandits” was secured at the airport.
